CliffAnother firm favourite dive site. Entry at second gate of Hamlet Oasis toward the Dive Friends dive shop. It is an easy rocky entrance and there is a concrete pipe on your right (serves as navigation marker) running down the reef. The reef starts straight from the shore. We headed South to the vertical wall and hit it at about 10min into dive.

Shires QuarryShore entry. In - 11:10 Out - 11:41 Average depth - 20 m Visability - 4-5 m ->, 2 m | Deep dive. Descended down the shot line. Water was cold at bottom but got uncomfortably warm at last safety stop. Dark at bottom, after 10 minutes, could see the floor. Appeared to be right below us. HAd to check SPG and watch to confirm depth. Possibly "narced". While holding Penny's BC I had the sensation of spinning at high speed like on a fun ride. Did 3 safety stops - 1 min @ 9m - 3 min @ 6 m (fresh water shrimp stayed with us for a while at this stop) - 5 min @ 3 m

Bass LakeShore entry. In - 14:20 Out - 14:45 Average depth - 10 m Visability - 4 m ->, 21 m | Dive in pit to 22.4m Water is 16*C. Try to ID the car, possibly an old Datsun. Try naving to side of lake. Compass not working - possibly iron in the rocks.

2022-10-20 Égypte Dahab
Blue Hole El BellsTravelled to Dahab from Sharm via taxi. Pyramids diving Centre really went all out to host us by providing snacks, water and juice. We had a quick pit stop just before entering Dahab district. The area is very rural a bedouin/fishing village. We briefed at a local tavern called "Canyon" The group was introduced to the famous vitamin C drink (a fresh orange, ginger and mint drink) that can be consumed hot or cold . The tavern itself was very basic with carpet and pillows on the floor for seating. Had to pay EGP $ 10 to go to the loo, they were DISGUSTING!! Kitted up across the road. One of the dive staff took my kit up the road for me. Paid him 10 USD with a smile. Els Bells presents a slender passage for descent, leading to a point where an arch opens up. Passing beneath this arch, you emerge into the vast expanse of the open ocean. Our journey took a left turn in the direction of the blue hole, where the coral formations resembled a dormant dragon. The underwater visibility was exceptional, as we neared the edge of the blue hole. Crossing over its rim, we proceeded onward, making our way towards the exit.
