Lake Pleasant Vista PointDive Buddy: Sean from class The objective for this dive was to recover a lost set of keys that Scott had dropped. We had our search area identified and then decided to use a Circular pattern since it was a small item and we had no obstructions. We descended and I acted as the anchor while Sean was the recoverer. Sean probably did about 10 circles before returning. When he returned I spotted and recovered the keys near our starting position. We ascended victoriously after a successful recovery. Side note: perhaps you need more weight when acting as the anchor, especially when you begin to run out of oxygen and lose that weight. Additionally, when I was acting as the anchor a small fish with yellow highlights stopped directly in front of me looked me square in the eyes and just sat and stared for at least 20 seconds... then he disappeared but returned again about 2 minutes later. He stopped and stared again for a brief moment. I've never had that happen before.

Lake Pleasant Vista PointDive Buddy: Sean from class The objective of this dive was to recover a lost flash light that one of the other divers lost. There were seven divers in total and Jason decided that we should all just cozy up next to one another and begin the search using a heading that was given to us by the flashlight owner. We all descended and began our search... it was difficult to stay in formation and not kick up any silt from the bottom. As we continued the search our depth increased significantly and the water cooled quickly. It became uncomfortable even in the full body 3mm wetsuit. I monitored my depth from Sean's computer since min wasn't working. We were unable to find the flashlight, turned back, did our safety stop and ended the dive.

Lake Pleasant Vista PointDive Buddy: Sean from class. The object of this training dive was to successfully recover a block of fake gold bars using the Jack recovery pattern. We descended to about 30 ft where the tape line/Baseline for our search was already setup... we quickly found our line and anchor on the tape measure. A group of about 10 other divers descended almost on top of us striking Sean in the head and muddying the waters to zero visibility. We decided to surface and regroup. After a quick discussion we descended again and quickly found our line again and then I ran the line. Adding the extra wight from the line anchor is tricky and takes a minute to adjust your buoyancy... I also let too much rope out initially and quickly got tangled up. You should always keep the rope taut or with minimum slack. I followed a North compass heading set my line and pulled the rope once to signal Sean I was ready to go. We both began our search and found the item on our first pass. We inflated the Lift Bag and ascended to the surface for a successful recovery.
