Random Wall Between Ss City Of Sydney And Ss New Guinea

Random wall we found while going to the SS City of Sydney. The fisherman were on the wreck, so rather than heading back to the New Guinea marks which we didn't trust we decided to do the wall we found on the sounder. it's basically off the point between the two wrecks and starts at about 24m and rises up to around 14m. Turned out to be a really nice wall with a good amount of fish life, and even some kelp beds. Few port jacksons as well as a catshark. Overall it was quite a good dive. Would have been even better with good vis.

    The Gutter

Nice dive, with a itty bitty little cuttlefish. Dead stingray towards the end was odd, didn't seem to be any damage to it, but quite clearly dead. Nice sized moray sitting in under a rock as well. There was also an interesting jellyfish at the start of the dive. Very fine limbed and lots of tentacles. I originally took it as a piece of an animal that had been chewed a bit.

    The Gravel Loader

Good dive with some nice cuttlefish, the usual big globe fish, occys, and old wives. The highlight of the dive was finding a sheet of metal that was covered with cuttlefish eggs. Plenty of little cuttlefish as well.

    The Gantry

Quick little dive, only chewed up about 70 bar as it was pretty shallow on the day. No wide stride as you'd bottom out. Only about 1.5m deep under the gantry. Went out around the point and did a loop back. Got a little tangled up in fishing line on the way back in. Dived with CP on this one. Ok dive, but it would have been a lot better if there was a bit more water.
