Melodee's Computer Dive for Advanced - final AOW dive. We returned to our first dive site and had a mild swim. Saw unknown red ribbon coral and several black and white

Melodee's Deep Dive for Advanced. Instructor determined the west side of island was too rough and there was no deeper dive on the east side. We dropped over a sandy patch, where we saw a pufferfish nesting and collection of large purple tube worms. Eventually found the reef before completing dive.

Went with Normal on shallow dive. Water entered regulator while descending - Normal checked valves, but didnt' fix the problem. Switched to secondary and discovered the mouthpiece on first was cracked. Continued dive, but realized a heavy regulator gets tiring. Observed large orange frogfish (camera was out of batteries), tiny moray, various shrimp, and stonefish.

Solid training (Advanced OW), flexible scheduling
I tagged along while my friend did her advanced. Definitely had the full attention of her instructor, Joulia. Was also able to dive with Normal (instructor) and Mona (DM in training). They were all very accommodating and concerned with safety. My friend was a much more confident and competent diver at the end of our 6 dives with Watercolors. One slight disadvantage, they don't own their own boat. Mostly not an issue, but it means the boat staff are not Watercolors employees and occasionally things don't flow as smoothly as they might otherwise. Also, this was the reason given for being cautious about more advanced dives - those dives would have required leaving early and a rental boat couldn't be counted on for punctuality. In the end, we did our more advanced dives with other shops that owned their own boats and the dives were perfectly safe, without current or rough waters. Rentals - I only used their BCD and regulator. Mine seemed quite new and well taken care of.
