This was the healthiest reef I've seen in a long time. But we spent half the time hunting around in the sea grass. We saw several sea slugs - leech and black headshield slug & some eyespot costasillia. We also saw a pipefish, and shelled mollusk hopping around on its foot and a conch peeking out of its shell.

We dived the Blue Hole again this morning. We saw a lot of sharks again, as well as a lot of rays. We also saw a puffer fish that I don't think I've seen before. This highlight of the dive for me was three ramoras stacked on top of each other.

The was a great night dive! The dive itself was on a sunken crashed plane. We saw so many different things - a variety of crabs and snails, conches, and a cowerie. There were sleeping ocean triggerfish, file clams, and an octopus! Unfortunately, my camera still won't start so I couldn't take any pictures - I think it might be dead.

Life at Sea

I spent a week at sea with the Cat Ppalu and Crew in June 2012. The staff was very friendly and were very considerate of people's dietary restrictions as I am lactose intolerant. Although the waters were too rough to do too many dives on the Atlantic side, we did close to 25 dives within a weeks span lead by the dive master Helen. The dives were great and the crew were great. Accommodations were also excellent. The only problem was getting in to the water, the access to the water is pretty restricted if you have 6 people on each side of the back of the boat trying to get in the water, a couple people outside of our group took quite some time to get in the water, so it often delayed getting in.

Blackbeard's is awesome

This is blackbeards, so know what you are getting into. It's the pirate life dive boat. This is not first class accomodations, but it is first class service, fun and diving. Overall an absolutely incredible trip. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
